Instruction Summit Climbing Gym offers a variety of programs to help you reach your goals as a climber. Whether you are a beginner just trying to learn the basics, an experienced climber wanting to learn to lead, or an intermediate climber who wants to refine your technique, we have a course for you. Basic Climbing: Designed for people with little or no previous climbing experience, the basic climbing class will get you up to speed quickly. Taught by one of our qualified instructors, this class covers all the basics you need to know: using a harness, belaying technique, climber commands, bouldering safety and techniques to make you a stronger climber. Climbers who are 12 or 13 years old must take this class to be certified to belay. Dates: First Wednesday of the month 7-9pm Cost: $50 for members / $60 for non-members (includes day pass, harness rental and instruction) Technique Clinic: For climbers with some experience who would like to refine their technique in order to climb more efficiently and complete more difficult routes. In this class, the instructor will observe you climbing several routes, make an assessment of your strengths and weaknesses and work with you to achieve maximum improvement during the class and beyond. Prerequisite: Basic Climbing Class or equivalent experience

Lead Climbing: If you want to take the next step as a climber, this class is for you! One of our expert instructors will teach you how to tie knots, the basics of lead climbing, rope management, clipping and climbing techniques and equipment safety. You will leave this class a better climber and ready to try for you lead certification. Prerequisite: Basic Climbing Class or equivalent experience (you should be comfortable climbing 5.9 routes on top rope)
Dates: Third Wednesday of the month 7-9pm Cost: $75 for members / $85 for non-members (includes day pass, harness rental and instruction) Personal Training: We can customize a lesson to meet your specific needs. You work one-on-one with one of our top notch instructors to get a great workout, improve your technique or to learn a new specialty. Call us to set up an appointment. Cost: $50 per hour (if you want to do personal training with a friend, you can split the cost!) |
